“Should we thank goodness, or should we thank God?”

“Should we thank goodness, or should we thank GOD?” This week there was a partial apartment building collapse in the Bronx and by God’s grace no one was seriously injured. In fact, no one was injured by the collapse at all, but instead of some people thanking God, they decided to thank goodness. I watched the news intently including the videos as the drama unfolded and heard only one newscaster speak of the miracle in the Bronx. Should we thank goodness, or should we thank GOD? Although tenants have been displaced it was the kindness of God that no lives were lost. What they lost materially can be replaced. So as we continue in this Holy Day season, no matter what comes your way, don’t thank goodness, thank GOD! “O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.” Psalm 136:1.
